MISLEADING ADVERTISING. I saw Tropical Smoothie Cafes sharing this ad and added it to my calendar to come back for the free smoothie. I was charged full price because I was not wearing flip flops. In hindsight, the ad is referring to National Flip Flop Day (so a tropical Sunrise Sunset smoothie makes sense) and says "grab your flip flops," which is an implication at best and a reference to the holiday, but not even in the fine print does it say wearing flip flops is a requirement for this offer. I contacted and gave TSC many chances to refund me for the misleading ad and they have failed to even reply. Update: I appreciate your response but I have already submitted multiple submissions to the link you sent me, before you sent it to me. I tried giving TSC plenty of time to address my concern before writing this review. I had a missed phone call/voicemail of someone who tried to call me about this and I have been unable to reach them when I've called back on numerous occasions and left 2 messages. I have provided ample information and requested a refund for the misleading ad. Please respond via email or just do the right thing and refund me, not put on a facade of customer support and then not follow through. I will happily update my reviews if you just do the right thing. But here we are, 2+ months later...

The district manager, Lindsey Wilson, for Jacksonville, Florida, called my son into work on a day he wasn’t even scheduled to work but told him he could come into work at 3pm if he would like to only to write him up! She wrote him up because his SHIFT LEAD, told him to close the store early which was 10 minutes early. My son, is a regular employee, not a keyholder, a shift lead, or a manager, so he was doing what he was instructed to do. Why would you write him up???? Not only didn’t you call him in on his day off to humiliate him but you embarrassed him in front of employees. My take from learning of his old manager who was demoted(black), shift lead fired(black), my son regular employee just doing his job(written up) which also lead to him being so upset he had a panic attack(black). It’s becoming a pattern and it’s sickening. This district manager, did not handle this ordeal ethically. My son should have never been penalized for the shift lead instruction that was given! He’s not a key holder, so why was he closing the store. So, therefore a complaint has been filed with EEOC and we have obtained an attorney. We’ve attempted numerous times to speak with someone at headquarters and handle this in a civilized manner but we getting the run around!

The Sandy Springs Tropical Smoothie is AWFUL!!! Buyers beware!!!! I’ve ordered from this location several times and have never had a problem. The “manager” argued with me about a half full cup I received. She said that she made my smoothie and she knew the cup was half full. Wait, whaaat??? Why in the world would that be acceptable to her as the store manager?? I have receipts from the times and days I’ve ordered and she told me she couldn’t look up my past purchases. Furthermore, I told her I had never received a half cup of this smoothie. I encouraged her to look back at my recent purchases using the Order ID. She never agreed to do that. The best part is she thought she put me on hold to make a call to her boss except she DID NOT put me on hold. I heard and recorded her talking to her boss and telling her I just wanted something for free and that I was saying was just “bullshit and I was “one of those” people looking for something for free. The boss agreed with her. She also, like a horrible manager of a store would do, told her staff that I was “bullshitting” and that “she personally made the order and knew it was half full All the while I could hear and recorded what she said. Telling her staff that no one has ever placed an order like the ones I’ve ordered a number of times—as you can see in the photos that is not true. In fact all the other smoothies I’ve ordered previously were full to the top of the cup. I guess her staff members know more about making smoothies than she does! Horrible leader to her staff and bad example to set for her team to her team members. Also a poor representation of the Tropical Smoothie brand! This woman argued back and forth with me over an $18 dollar smoothie order. Seriously?!? Tropical Smoothie has so many competitors in the area and I will be purchasing from them instead of this horrible store. They don’t have a drive thru and I know that hurts their bottom line and they are in a desolate shopping plaza. Anyway, they have lost a customer forever and I hope many people see this review and stop patronizing Tropical Smoothie—by the way, it’s the location at the Perimeter across the street from the Good Will and in the same parking lot as Wendy’s. Stay away from there is my advice.

Arizona has a such bogus way of Paying employees that really work hard and go out of their way for Customer Service. I owned my own company in Oregon and ever since I moved here I am astonished by how employees are treated. As a manager now and a previous owner the people that work for us are the people that are doing a hard-working job and making you your bonuses and your life easier, I’m going to be very caddy and Ask For my 1.53 in tip back If I could add up all the tips I’ve given before I would!!!! Not giving your employees tips from customers that are grateful for them is horrible Self Centerd disrespectful And you’re treating them as slaves in my opinion! Again, I come here often for a healthy smoothie. I’ve had some slow experience through the drive-through before, but for the most part, your employees are amazing and always been helpful and should be treated as a blessing. Maybe share your bonus with the underdogs or step it up to the lesser that are busting hard to make an earning!!!!!

My review is on the Tropical Smoothie Cafe - GA024, 5740 Steeplechase Blvd, Suite 100, Cumming, Ga 30040 where Mike Haines is the owner. I recently submitted a survey about my experience there. I spoke to Kaleah-General Manager on 9/18 around 10:30am. I told her that location is a "hit" or "miss" with service/food/smoothies. I also said it's more of a "miss". I said the presentation/quality/quantity/taste of the food has been a "miss" at times, the taste of the smoothies has definitely been a "MISS" and the customer service, a "miss" at times. I told her I have visited a couple of Tropical Smoothie locations (Windward Parkway in Ga and Naples Fl) and have not had any bad experiences. She said addressed the smoothie issue by saying how the water is dispensed may be a factor to the smoothies not having flavor at their location so I may need to ask for "lite" water, which I do that anyway. I then asked, since this is a franchise, shouldn't all stores be on the same level/page? She said yes but some stores has newer systems and some has the older systems so they are working through things. I then asked if they change their water filter as required? She hesitated and said yes. Then she suggested I can go to another Tropical Smoothie which is about 10 minutes away to avoid having a bad experience. I told her that was disheartening for her to say that because I am about 3 minutes away from her location and why should I go out of my way for something that can be easily remedied at their location. I've seen many other customers complain about different things there. She said she just didn't want me to be dissatisfied. She then said, we have your number "saved", you may have called several times. I have because if something isn't right with my order I'm going to address it. What annoyed me is why SAVE my number? Are you singling me out? If so I will be contacting corporate and the news media for an immediate conversation. I asked for her name/title again, then I asked who was her manager, she said the owner and I can google that information online. Her response really took me back AGAIN! I asked why wouldn't she give me the name, why have me look it up? She said they can not give out phone numbers/email addresses. I told her I only wanted the name, I did not ask for anything else. This location MUST do better and training is needed across the board. I would welcome a conversation from Mike Haines-owner. You have my number saved so please call me.

I love Tropical Smoothie when it comes to my smoothies, fruit bowls and food items….but the ONLY time I received exceptional customer service skills was LAST YEAR when a young man of color took my order. he SPOKE when I came to the window and acknowledged me, which is the FIRST time someone has ever greeted me when I pull up (I’ve been there several times prior) and their customer service is HORRIBLE… the last time I went to TS… was my FINAL time…I felt as if I was treated unfairly…ONE the owners of the specific TS I GO TO are RUDE….my order has been wrong TWICE an it was an in app order where it can be modified SPECIFICALLY how you want it. Now the first time, they corrected it and told me to just come back the next day, the 2nd time however was not, and maybe it was because it was a face to face interaction…the associate tried to argue with me about my order and tell me what’s included and what’s not, then proceeds to tell me I have to pay extra for some I’ve ALREADY paid for, then they take the order back to “examine” 2 people surrounded the person who had my fruit bowl while she takes a fork to stir it around to see if they missed anything, now sees that my mangoes were in fact MISSING, they added the fruit and proceeds to give it back to the man at the window and the man just says it was inside at the bottom, which it wasn’t….i didn’t clown or act a fool, I told them I hope they didn’t think I would eat something they played in while I was looking, drove off and threw the order away….until I speak with a CORPORATE & ACTION is taken…I will continue to speak…them trying to give me an $8 coupon to shut me up won’t work especially when the bowl was $13….so I’ll be calling until I get the answer I deserve

Tropical Smoothie on Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida 32218 consistently takes over 45 minutes in the drive through. This is the most frustrating place to go to so I quit and will not be returning because this problem has never been resolved since opening.

I did not receive a smoothie I paid for after bringing them over $100 worth of business, called and was told that my name would go in a book for pick up the next time I visited. I came back, was shown that my name was not in the book and then called a liar by their store manager Jean. He told me no one fits the description of the man that was working that day, was unwilling to check my number on the caller ID or who was working that day. Honestly, I will be calling corporate since I have now made two trips to this store and had bad experiences both times. DO NOT waste your time with this store. The drive is worth it for competent staff. I mean seriously, how hard is it to make a smoothie?
