Why Shop at Ancestry?

Ancestry.com is a popular website that helps people discover their family history. Many users look for ways to save money when signing up. Ancestry.com coupons can provide discounts on memberships, making it more affordable to explore genealogy.

A diverse group of people gathered around a table looking at family photos and a laptop showing a family tree.

These coupons often come in the form of promo codes or special offers on the site. Finding and using them can help reduce the cost of building a family tree or accessing historical records. This makes Ancestry.com easier to use for anyone interested in learning about their past.

How To Save With Ancestry.com Coupons

A person typing on a laptop showing a family tree, surrounded by old family photos and documents on a wooden desk.

Ancestry.com offers different ways to save money when signing up or renewing membership. Customers can use various coupons and promo codes to get discounts like 15%, 20%, or even 30% off. Some deals include free trials or special offers for certain groups.

Available Coupon Types and Promo Codes

Ancestry.com often provides several coupon types. The most common are percentage-off discounts like 15%, 20%, or 30% off membership fees. Some coupons offer a flat amount off, such as $10 off your first purchase.

There are also promo codes that cover extra fees, such as waiving the processing fee. Occasionally, free shipping deals apply if customers order physical DNA kits.

Special codes for groups like AARP members give access to additional discounts. Some coupons work only for new users, while others renew memberships.

Customers should check expiration dates since these codes often have limits.

Step-By-Step Guide: Applying an Ancestry.com Coupon

To use an Ancestry.com promo code, start by selecting the membership plan or product.

Next, go to the checkout page. There will be a box labeled “Enter Promo Code” or “Coupon Code.”

Type or paste the coupon code exactly as shown. Double-check for spelling errors and capitalization.

Once entered, click the “Apply” button. The discount will appear below the total price if the code is valid.

Complete the payment to finish the order. If the coupon does not work, check if it expired or if it applies to your purchase.

Current Membership Discounts and Offers

Ancestry.com frequently runs a 14-day free trial for new members to explore records without charge. This trial often comes with a promo code to waive fees.

Regular offers include discounts like up to 30% off when signing up for annual memberships. Shorter subscriptions may get 15–20% off.

Certain groups, including AARP members, can access special savings with unique coupon codes.

Watch for deals that combine discounts, such as a percentage off plus a waived processing fee. These offers change often, so customers should check for the latest promotions before purchasing.

Choosing and Using Ancestry.com Products and Trials

Ancestry.com offers several options to explore family history, including memberships, DNA kits, and gift subscriptions. Each product has features that fit different needs, budgets, and interests. Users should consider what tools and access they want before choosing a plan or product.

Membership Plans and Free Trial Options

Ancestry offers multiple memberships such as World Explorer and All Access. The World Explorer plan gives access to historical records in several countries, while All Access expands this to include U.S. records and more. Prices vary based on the level of access.

Free trials usually last 7 days. Users can explore records and build family trees during this time. It’s important to cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges. Free trials are a good way to test membership features without risk.

AncestryDNA Kits and Family Tree Tools

The AncestryDNA kit helps people find genetic connections. Users submit a saliva sample to uncover ethnicity estimates and DNA matches. Results integrate with family trees on Ancestry.com for deeper research.

Family tree tools allow users to create detailed trees and link records. These tools support uploading photos, stories, and documents. Both DNA results and family trees together provide a fuller picture of ancestry.

Gift Memberships and Seasonal Deals

Ancestry offers gift memberships for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions. These gifts include different levels of access and sometimes include DNA kits. Gift subscriptions make it easy to share family history exploration.

Seasonal deals often reduce prices on memberships or DNA kits. These promotions appear around holidays or special sales events. Checking for current deals can save money when buying Ancestry products.

What Real Customers Say About Ancestry (8 reviews)

A

I have worked in this office for seven years. What an amazing place to work! The entire layout is functional and comfortable. There are many conference rooms of different sizes with amazing video conferencing in each. The gathering places for events are impressive. The ping pong / foosball is fun. The mother's lounge / take a nap room is comforting. The free snacks are great. The discounted food and on-site catering is fresh and high-quality and simply amazing!

A

I bought an Ancestry DNA kit for my dad, who's interested in genealogy. Hidden in the fine print was a quarterly subscription to "Worldwide Explorer", which neither of us expected nor subscribed to. When I finally caught the subscription charge, Ancestry refunded the last two charges, but "due to policy" would not refund the others. I never used this service, and am very disappointed they didn't provide a full refund. Be careful and know what you're signing up for!

A

Ouch this hurts because I am having a Love Hate Relationship with the entire experience thus far. Once Kit was registered and dropped into the Mail, You have to remember to also Activate Your Kit what a Poor Process!!!! If You Do Not Activate AND Register Your Kit will just sit and remain stagnant. Poor Process and Customer Service. Seems a wee bit complicated and in Poor tastes after receiving payment to allow Kits to just sit for weeks ESPECIALLY if Someone Paid the EXTRA Fee for Expediting- perhaps the Customers are NOT REALIZING You MUST Register AND Activate! Poor Customer Relations! This whole experience has caused Faith Loss in the Product inclusive of the quality of the Results received. Also a terrible Communication Barrier with Customer Service They insisted on going by the Register and not the Activation Date so if You forget one step in the process You won't receive Your Results at all You'll just be tapping Your fingers on the Table playing the waiting Game Then You'll call Customer Service and They will say You didn't Register but You thought Yiu did but nirp You only Activated. Watch out and I requested a refund on the Expediting Fee and They did return it and also posted My Results the next Day like really quickly. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I requested a review and haven't heard anything as of yet. Just the entire process has left me feeling pessimistic instead of optimistic and now I want to try another Company and compare results when originally I felt confident in trying this service alone. Also had to come to Headquarters Home Address on Google to be able to leave a Review. I believe that the flaws in My experience are fixable and teachable moments for not only the customer service representatives but to some internal Processes. Just My little meager opinions. Thank You for giving Me more information than I had before. I guess it was worth the money but something just didn't sit right about the experience.

A

Wish I could give ZERO stars. Look elsewhere if you need a DNA analysis I wish I would’ve done research prior to using their services. They are a scam, over priced, and take an unusually long time to process and release your results. Not worth the time or money.

A

Moved DNA parent matching features behind a paywall. Something they used to be free and advertised to get you to purchase a DNA kit. DNA fluctuates a ton and gets less granular over time! My Scottish went down from 35% to 12% over the last couple of months. I get that DNA changes as they get more data, but the amount it changes constantly doesn't add up. Maybe they used to be wildly inaccurate? It's enough that I don't trust them anymore.

A

I am happy with the product, however, telephone support is not good at all. I have just had to call twice and run through and issue 6 times with 2 people. It's like they have never used ancestry themselves, they seemed to have no idea and could certainly not answer my questions. I had to give up and hang up. This is not acceptable, especially when the platform charges somewhat of a premium for its services. I will call again tomorrow morning, when a new shift has started...

A

I recently bought the package, got my DNA, etc. I decided to try the 14 day free trial for world exploration, and I put in my phones calendar to make sure to cancel it. My phone notified me February 28th, 3 days before the trial was to renew. I went in that day and cancelled it to be safe, then on March 1st I see a purchase go through on my card for 42 something. It's been a pain to get a refund. I submitted a refund status through Google and it's "processing" because ancestry has no way to contact them. I went back to check why I had been charged, and the subscription was still "active", so I canceled again that day. I got back today because I'm curious and it's active again, even after cancelling multiple times now. I want my money back, you guys are a large corporation, you can do without the 42$, I cannot. This isn't okay.

A

Ancestry became totally terrible, only caring about its profits and not at all anymore about its customers, leave alone the local once who helped it grow over the years. There customer support is now provided by people overseas who barely speak English and only respond with canned answers they can read off of a checklist or manual, surrounded be a terrible audio connection. Their system continues having problem and now bothers me with obviously false emails that are repeatedly sent out. That happens when folks are hired not based on their qualification but based on their religious affiliation, and who knows maybe to increase the profit, IT has been outsourced to overseas as well causing all these problems. One thing is for sure, Ancestry is not the local company anymore it used to be and does not deserve our support anymore as it turned its back on us.
